There are three working drawers to both the front and rear of the top section, with each pedestal also comprising four graduated drawers to one side of the pedestals, therefore a total of 12 drawers. This includes a large central drawer to the top section, front and rear. All drawers boast moulded fronts and original working locks, with working key. The drawers are mahogany lined, constructed with hand-dovetails and feature quarter beaded interiors (a sign of quality). The drawer fronts are decorated with later turned knobs. Both pedestals also include a locking cupboard to the rear, each with a moulded panel door and opening to reveal a removable / height adjustable shelf. The pedestals sit on moulded plinths, whilst retaining the original castors underneath. The desk is freestanding which means it can be situated in the centre of the room. As this is a large desk, it means there is significant storage space available. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport and access into the home.

Condition Report:
Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desktop frame, pedestals and plinths but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The desk incorporates a new top-quality full grain black leather, decorated with gold tooling, which is in excellent condition. The drawer fronts are decorated with later turned knobs. Nominal old use marks to the insides of the drawers, with ink stains visible in some drawers. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The drawers incorporate the original working brass lever locks (and key) and feature hand-dovetail construction with quarter beaded interiors (a sign of quality). The desk terminates on its original castors. This desk is solid in joint and ready to use.
