Victorian Mahogany Pedestal Desk

19th century
Description

A fine quality mid-Victorian mahogany Pedestal Desk with good original mid-brown polished leather writing surface, embossed with gilt Grecian style border and foliage to the corners.

The pedestals each have three graduating drawers and the top section three horizontally aligned drawers; NINE drawers in total. Each drawer retains its original lining paper which adds character (new marbled-paper linings can be provided if desired). Original working locks (and a key). The base supported on brass castors.

Date: 1860-70
