Here we have a wonderful early Victorian metamorphic Mahogany desk c1840. As you can see the desk has fantastic colour and patina. There is a beautiful tooled and gilded leather skiver to the top with a shallow border and thumb moulded edge. The top lifts to form an architects type table. The top section slides forward to create a kneehole which is perfect for height and knee space. There are slides at both sides for extra work space and three drawers to one side and a cupboard to the other. The drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original turned bun handles. This really is a superb piece of furniture of great quality and super cabinet making. The whole is finished with a plinth base. The desk is in great retail condition ready for your home.The dimensions are approx 76 cm wide 76 cm high 49 cm deep.
