Description

A superb late Victorian Sheraton revival mahogany cylinder desk of attractive proportions. The base has a pair of three drawer pedestals all with beautiful satinwood and ebony crossbanding, which runs through to the imposing cylinder top. The interior has a draw out writing section with leather insets and a central adjustable writing level. The row of bottom drawers are dummies and move in and out with the sliding writing surface. This gives six satinwood veneered drawers all lined in solid mahogany and retaining their original knobs. In the centre are five hooded pigeon holes. The uppermost top is also crossbanded and has an attractive gallery back. With only one or two marks as you could expect this piece is in super condition overall and is ready to use.
