The top of the desk has a good quality green leather writing surface with a gold tooled edge.
It is a good quality piece with rounded corners and molding that continues on all 4 sides of the desk, meaning the back looks nicely finished so it could be used as a freestanding piece as well as against a wall. It is a good size and the kneehole measures approximately 23 1/4" (59cm) high x 23" (58cm) wide.
The desk is in good condition for its age and has been well looked after. It has a lovely rich patina and the drawers open well. The inside of the drawers are generally clean and tidy with just some minor ink stains. There are some normal signs of age and use, some minor knocks and light surface marks and a small chip on the bottom edge (see photo) but nothing detrimental. The desk has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
