Russian Bronze Sculpture, Wolf Hunting Group by Nikolai Lieberich

1900 - 1920
Description

Top quality, dark patinated Russian Bronze Sculpture modelled as a Wolf Hunting Group, featuring two hunters binding a wolf, two horses and four hounds.

Cast by Woerffel foundry after the model by Nikolai Lieberich (1828-1883). Inscribed to base ‘Sculp.Lieberich, ‘Fabr. C.F.Woerffel / St Petersburg’ and finance ministry stamp for 1884.

Likely later casting, but excellent quality, true to the original. Excellent condition throughout.
