Treehouse Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The top drawer is wide enough for charts .the pedestals each stand on four turned tulip shaped mahogany legs. The old writing surface has seen some action and is showing signs of wear and use as you would expect and the desk has fading to some areas, along the outside edge of the top are a series of brass fixing points these were probably to add a rail around the edge when at sea to stop items falling off. This is an unusual desk with some history behind it
