Set of 10 French Majolica Aesthetic Movement Plates C1880

Description

This striking SET OF TEN FRENCH MAJOLICA PLATES, by H.B. & Co Choisy Le Roi France, date from circa 1880.

They are decorated with Oriental-inspired scenes, each one different, popular during the Aesthetic Movement which was prevalent at the end of the 19th Century.

The PLATES bear both printed and impressed marks of the Hippolyte Boulenger Factory. As can be seen from the photographs, the scenes are both fun and inspired and the glaze has a beautiful liquid quality.

The PLATES are in good condition with no chips or restoration.

Diameter: 8.5 inches (21.5 cm)
