Description

Rare African tribal sword from the Kapsiki tribal area, Cameroon, c1920. It appears to be a mix of bronze and iron and is well cast in the traditional tribal style. There is nice decoration to the handle and it has acquired great patina with just the right amount of Verdigris and rust on the blade. The blade has the typical 'wobbly' appearance when you look down the full length which is a feature of swords cast in the traditional 'lost wax' process. Overall condition is good in line with age and use with only minor surface wear/marking.
