Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The interior with birds eye maple drawers and bearing a maker’s label of ‘Johnson & Appleyard, Sheffield – Rotherham, Appleyard & Sons’. With a bank of drawers with burr walnut facings and knob handles, and the opposite side with similar faux drawers. The inlaid panels to the front are over a raised platform, all on squat bun feet and brass and white patent porcelain castors.
