Victorian Burr Walnut Davenport

19th century
Description

Early Victorian, burr walnut writing desk. The two front supports are of carved elongated cabriole shape, standing on four squat bun feet with counter sunk porcelain castors which are original. Writing slope with green gilt ,tooled leather insert raises to reveal an interior lined with satin birch. To one side the four mahogany lined drawers, oppose four dummy ones, all with original turned wooden knobs. The pen tray is again lined and the lid is framed with an original pierced brass gallery. One working key for the drawers. Super colour, very good quality and in original condition..
