This George III Sheraton period tall chest dates from the eighteenth century, originating from England around 1790. Formed from Cuban mahogany with a warm brown colour, the piece displays crossbanded drawer fronts and a shaped gallery top shelf with a swan-neck pediment. Five graduated drawers run down the front, fitted with original brass swan-neck handles on circular backplates and small keyhole escutcheons, mounted above bracket feet. The woodwork shows minor variations in grain and subtle tone shifts across the drawer faces and frame.
