A satisfying and classic eighteenth century English ceramic design.
The silver shaped plate with gadrooned edge, the face splashed with mottled coloured glazes of deep green, blue grey and brown ''tortoise-shell'' design applied over a creamy yellow coloured ground.
The back of the plate with brown ''tortoiseshell'' over the cream ground.
A very good early plate with crisp sharp press moulded rim.
In excellent bright condition with no damage or repair.
