Description
A late Victorian/Edwardian inlaid mahogany twin pedestal desk, circa 1900, the leather inset top over a shaped front with a central kneehole drawer flanked by two bow fronted banks of three graduated drawers and raised on eight tapering supports terminating in original brass castors, the drawer fronts inlaid with scrolling foliate motifs within banded borders and with brass pull handles, the legs inlaid with garlands and the legs, sides, kneehole and back with line inlay throughout. In original, unrestored condition, some losses to the line inlay on one of the sides and the back, the leather top is complete, has no leather rot but does have some stains - see photographs. A very pretty desk suitable for use in the centre of a room if required as the back is veneered and has line inlay.
