Size: 2ft 6in x 1ft 1in (72 x 45cm).

Antique Afghan Baluch pushti (pillow) with plain weave back.

Circa 1900.

Pushti were used as pillows or back rests, they were filled with wool or straw through a small opening to one side. This example has a simple tree of life design on a camel ground.

This example has a design to the face of a hooked medallion, this is often associated with the Mushwani Baluch. The back is a striped plain weave with bands of embroidered decoration.

The bag is in excellent condition with slight wear through use and good pile.

The bag has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
