Description:

Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian solid beech revolving office armchair, circa 1890, which has been newly upholstered in a top-quality green leather, and is in excellent condition. The armchair features a tall comfortable curved bar back, connected to wrap around arms, supported by an elegant vertical fan back. The chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain olive-green leather. The chair has also been French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop. The chair sits on four splayed solid beech legs which terminate on the solid brass and chrome ball castors. The chair retains the original revolving cast iron mechanism which rotates 360 degrees. The chair mechanism has been cleaned, restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair frame is sturdy and the item is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely padded seat.

Condition Report:

This Victorian desk chair and mechanism are in excellent condition, considering its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain green leather. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. The chair arms and back have been glued to ensure the chair frame is solid in joint. The original revolving mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich brown colour, having been traditionally French polished, to a professional standard, by hand, in our workshop. The legs incorporate solid brass and chrome ball castors, which are also in working condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
