An Attractive Mahogany Pedestal Desk

Description

Dating from the second quarter of the 19th century this good quality mahogany pedestal desk stands on plinth bases and has nine mahogany lined drawers all with molded fronts and retaining their original turned wooded knobs and brass locks. The solid top has a small gallery and the whole has taken on a good colour and patina. The back is paneled meaning the desk can be used as either a free standing or an against the wall piece. 770mm high, 1200mm wide, 600mm deep and the knee hole is 625mm high and 515mm wide. Circa 1840.
