Description

A 19thC nine drawer pedestal desk. Of a nice colour and patina well made with good walnut veneers. Dovetail jointed drawers with good linings and drawer runners. Brass locks with a working key. The faux red leather insert to the top has faded to a good real leather look. The turned drawer pulls have been replaced with brass ring pulls some time in the past. Both pedestals have four casters to their undersides. There are some old repairs to the veneers but these are not apparent as they are limited to the lower part of the kneehole where kicks and scuffs have occurred in the past. The rear of the desk is finished in polished veneer. As it is constructed in three parts (top and two pedestals) the desk can be located in a top floor attic office or other difficult to access rooms.
