Large Golden Oak Antique Pedestal Desk

This Superb quality late 19th century Large Oak Antique Pedestal Desk dates from ca.1880 and has aged to a wonderful shade of golden oak. It has been built by a true craftsman with some unique features and is a very large size so has lots or work space. It has a rectangular moulded carved top edge with sloping leather writing and a turned gallery back with brass rails running across the top. Either side is two beautifully carved cupboard doors with hinged lids and the interiors have letter divides along with a pen holder. This stunning desk has a large knee hole with panelled back and each pedestal has four graduating drawers with moulded edges and the original quality brass handles. The sides and backs are panelled and finished so the desk can be place in the centre of a room if so desired and the back also has two working cupboard doors and working drawers offering additional storage. The right hand drawer has a counter well fitted. This stunning antique desk stands on a moulded plinth with castors, it has aged to a golden oak shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
