Antique Khamseh tribal rug of all over boteh and flower design.

Circa 1870.

A rug of superb colour and design with very soft glossy wool. The rug has a wonderful border with large colourful flowering shrub design. The dark abrashed indigo field is covered with a very colourful repeat boteh and flowerhead design.

Good condition with slight even wear, good pile. Both ends retain the original checker board design and original end finishes.

Very soft wool and firm weave, hand washed and ready for use. Suitable for normal domestic use. The rug has good weight and sits well on the floor.

A truly outstanding example of tribal weaving.
