Description

A beautiful Edwardian mahogany desk labelled inside the middle drawer reading 'Maples' the highly regarded cabinet makers. With boxwood stringing throughout even to the tambour, this piece would be usable off the wall with it's polished and inlaid back. To the front all the drawers have the original brass handles and are decorated with Satinwood and Ebony crossbanding. The handle to the tambour are later replacements but similar to what would have originally been in place. The fitted interior has later replacement inkwells and the writing surface benefits from a new tooled leather. Overall this desk is in very good condition and looks superb. The tambour lock is working and with key. Cleaned and wax polished ready to use and enjoy. Splitting into three easy pieces for transportation.
