Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
1900. It has a moulded top with the original / early tooled writing surface above a central drawer with key over knee hole. It usually has two additional pull out writing slides on either end. Each pedestal has three drawers with pear drop handles and this lovely antique desk stands on unusual turned legs with curved cross-stretchers. It has wonderful character consistent with age and use, giving a great charm and authenticity. The walnut is a warm shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
