A good village rug from the Greater Hamadan Region with an unusual medallion design.
Circa 1920.
This is an interesting rug with a scarce medallion design with large boteh in the corners. The colour contrast between the indigo blue and the ivory is quite striking.
The border is a repeat design on a lighter indigo blue ground.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for heavy domestic use. A good tough hard wearing furnishing rug.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
