Size: 7ft 7in x 5ft 1in (232 x 156cm).

Antique Caucasian Karabagh cloud band Kazak rug.

Circa 1900.

These rugs were woven by Armenian weavers in the Duchy of Khachen in the town of Khondzoresk, they are known as cloud band Kazaks due to the cloud band design within the medallions.

This example has a bright colour palette and is of the two medallion design, note the small animals and birds within the field design. The use of green in the upper medallion is an interesting feature.

The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile. There are a few early synthetic dye colours used in this rug.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
