Description

A fantastic quality Victorian burr walnut Davenport writing desk with a very unusual serpentine front to the the kneehole panel and beautifully carved front cabriole legs.

Very decorative piece being in such vibrant colour tones and the burr walnut too.

The main writing slope has a deep burgundy inset leather and when lifted you have a birds eye maple interior with pigeon holes and two drawers ( note the lefthand side pigeon hole is missing the moulding ). Above the writing slope you have a further lidded storage box with a pen tray and further lidded boxes.

The righthand side door opens to reveal a set of four drawers, all beautifully dovetailed and with recessed carved drawer pulls. Original lock, but at the moment, I can't get the key to throw the lock, so it is used as the door pull and not locking.

A super quality piece and a great decor piece.
