Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
1900. It has a moulded top with satinwood crossbanded edge and original / early tooled leather writing insert above a long drawer over knee hole and a bank of graduating Mahogany lined drawers in the pedestal. Each drawer has the original brass handles and decorative inlay banding. This fine antique desk stands on tapering legs with castors, is finished on the back and has aged to a warm Mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
