Description

This elegant rug was woven in the great workshops of the master weavers of Isfahan. It has a very fine weave and great design which has been drawn in a very muted and limited range of colours. The pile is thin and clipped low which gives the design great clarity and definition. Note also the beautiful wide ivory border which would make this a suitable item to be placed under a table. The size is interesting too, as it is slightly bigger than a rug and slightly smaller than a carpet. Dating to the early part of the 20th century, this lovely rug has survived in very good usable condition.
