A very rare Steiner school oak desk, armchair and book rest. Full provenance known, made for a English Steiner School in 1930. Amazing furniture, made in the anthroposophic style that was wwweloped by Rudolf Steiner. Steiner designed amongst other things, school furniture and toys to be used within the schools. No hard lines here, only organic, natural shapes with an adzed finish. This Steiner School oak kneehole desk is in superb condition,featuring two open storage compartments, over two cupboard doors, all very original and even complete with the sliding shaped trays within the cupboards. The desk is also finished on that back so can stand away from the wall. In the original finish and with a lovely adzed finish to the surfaces.
Also with this Rudolf Steiner School desk and chair is the original book rest, again with the adzed finish, not fixed, free of the desk. This very rare anthroposophic oak furniture was used in the Headteachers room within the Steiner School. Just amazing design, super quality and in excellent condition.
