Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Emerging in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Sheraton Revival furniture draws inspiration from the 18th-century designs of Thomas Sheraton. It is characterised by refined proportions, geometric marquetry, slender feet, and the extensive use of figured light woods such as satinwood.

These pieces typically feature solid timber carcasses veneered with figured satinwood, often decorated with rosewood or ebony crossbanding. Drawers are constructed with hand-cut dovetail joints, solid wood linings, and fitted with cast brass ring handles.

Authenticity is identified by examining hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, natural timber oxidisation on internal linings, and precise geometric inlay work. Period pieces display subtle variations in cabinetmaking, original brassware fittings, and natural surface patina.

The warm golden tones and clean vertical lines of a satinwood chest pair well with neutral paint palettes, contemporary artwork, and natural linen textiles. Its compact footprint makes it suitable for bedrooms, dressing rooms, or hallways as a vertical storage piece.

Clean the polished surface regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year. Position the chest away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent veneer movement and fading.
