Description

Early 19th Century French mahogany directoire writing desk, the moulded edge top having a light brown leather writing surface decorated with gilt tooling, the top having pull out slides either side incorporating the same style as the top, three mahogany lined drawers at the front with original brass mounts, the right hand drawer having a lockable secret compartment, the reverse of the desk having faux drawers, nice reeded decoration at the top corners of the desk with brass cross mounts, supported on square tapering legs terminating with brass cap and castors. Circa 1830.
