Mid Victorian Figured Walnut Pedestal Desk

Description

A pretty mid-Victorian well-figured walnut PEDESTAL DESK in very good condition.

The top, which is fitted with a gilt-tooled beige-coloured leather writing surface, features three mahogany-lined drawers to the frieze, all of which retain their original solid walnut bun handles. Below are two cupboards,the right-hand one with three mahogany drawers inside; the other fitted as a cupboard with an adjustable shelf.

It is supported on a plinth base, and overall it is veneered in finely figured walnut of good "warm" colour, including the well-panelled back. 48ins wide; 27ins deep; 29.5ins high. (122x68.5x75cms)
