Description

Size: 10ft 6in x 2ft 11in (320 x 90cm).
Antique South Caucasian Shirvan kilim runner of outstanding colour and design.
Late 19th century.
A very good example of type, with traditional banded design. It is unusual to find kilim runners, this item has a selvedge on both edges so we know that it was made as a runner in this original width, probably on a simple narrow loom on the ground. Both ends retain the original plaited and braded end finishes.
The kilim is in excellent condition with very slight wear.
The kilim is suitable for normal domestic use.
The kilim has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
