Antique South West Persian Khamseh tribal 'bird' rug of beautiful design and colour.

Circa 1900.

A classic example of a Khamseh ‘bird’ rug. Six ivory linked medallions on an indigo blue field filled with birds and animals. A superb classic Khamseh border frames the rug. The rug is beautifully drawn with every possible part covered with birds and tribal design elements.

The rug is of a very useful almost square shape.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
