An antique Karaja rug with the Eagle Kazak design. This rare type is supposedly from the village of Barjid in North Western Persia. Finely woven with vivid natural dyes, including a strange red ground colour that has corroded slightly, lending a sculptured feel to the rug. Good overall condition, slight losses to ends which are now stopped. Deep cleaned, moth proofed and floor ready. Circa 1900.
