Nineteenth Century Faux Bamboo Desk

Description

Pretty faux bamboo pedestal desk. Veneered in curly pitch pine. Green leather insert. Stamped 'Blain and Son, Liverpool'. Arthur Blain founded his cabinetmaking company in the 1830s. Throughout the nineteenth century they were famous for making high quality furniture. The desk also carries the label of S&H Jewell, retailers and antique dealers of High Holborn, London. In very good original condition.
