Description:
The desk incorporates a newly fitted good quality full grain green inset leather with elegant gold tooling border, which is flanked by mahogany banding and a thumb moulded top. If you prefer a different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for an additional £125. The top also retains its original shaped up-stand to the rear, to ensure items kept on the desk cannot fall off the rear of the desk. The desk comprises a pretty shaped breakfront top section with two fixed pedestals. There are 9 graduated working drawers to the front of the desk; the drawers residing in the pedestals feature cock beaded fronts and original turned mahogany knobs. The drawers also retain their original brass lever locks with working key. The central drawer, between the pedestals, is a hidden drawer, disguised as a shaped frieze with moulded edge. The drawers are lined with top quality solid ash and constructed with fined hand dovetail joints. The pedestals rest on the original moulded plinths. The desk is designed to reside against a wall. This is a single-piece desk.
Condition Report:
This desk is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desktop frame, pedestals and plinths but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The desk incorporates a newly fitted quality full grain olive green leather, which is in excellent condition. If you prefer a different colour leather, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for an additional £125. The drawers retain their original mahogany knobs and brass lever locks (with working key). All drawers run smoothly, close flush to the frame. This desk is solid in joint and ready to use.
