Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A chronograph wristwatch is a timepiece equipped with an additional stopwatch function, operated via pushers on the side of the case, featuring independent sub-dials to measure elapsed seconds, minutes, or hours alongside standard timekeeping.

During the 1940s, high-grade Swiss timepieces typically featured stainless steel, chrome-plated metal, or solid gold cases. Dials were composed of painted metal with acrylic crystals and were fitted to hand-stitched leather or woven textile straps.

Authentic timepieces display clear brand markings and serial numbers stamped on the dial, inside the case back, and on the mechanical movement. Legitimate examples feature period-correct movement calibres, precise dial typography, and consistent patina on the hands and markers.

A vintage leather-strapped chronograph offers a versatile aesthetic that pairs naturally with tailored suits, formal shirts, or smart casual attire, serving as a functional horological accessory.

Mechanical wristwatches require professional servicing every three to five years to clean, lubricate, and adjust the movement components. They should be kept away from water, extreme temperature fluctuations, and strong magnetic fields to ensure timekeeping accuracy.
