Victorian Japanned Steel Coal Scuttle

Description

Victorian C1850 Japanned steel coal scuttle box or purdonium. There is a picture of a dog on the door.

This is a lovely rare piece, that is full of age charm and character. Complete with a shovel.

Beautiful patina, age and colour... a nice find, with a quality feel.

Would look amazing in the right location!

Overall maximum dimensions: 30.5cm wide, 44cm deep, 40cm high (internally 20cm high, 26cm wide, 20cm average depth).

There are some small holes in the underside, the worst of which are covered by an internal metal plate.
