GILLOWS of LANCASTER: an excellent quality figured mahogany sliding-top DAVENPORT (or writing desk) in good original condition.

Typical of Gillows quality, the many features include: original baluster gallery; gilt-tooled leather writing surface; fitted interior with two small drawers; hinged pen-and-ink drawer; large slides to both sides; four long graduated mahogany and marbled paper-lined drawers to the right side (dummies opposite); turned "apple-shaped" feet with castors, and the whole top slides forward when in use.
