Description

A burr walnut inlaid Victorian Period Piano top "pop up" Davenport. With a raised spindled gallery to the pop-up section, opening to reveal an internal shelf with a pierced fretwork gallery and a well-fitted interior for stationery. The "piano" hinged front veneered in the finest burr walnut and inlaid with foliate borders opening to reveal a leather lined writing surface, pen tray, ink wells and two satin birch drawers. The right-hand side having four mahogany lined lockable drawers with turned drawer pulls, the left-hand side having dummy drawers. The front is veneered in fine burr walnut and with two carved and turned column supports. All supported on a burr walnut veneered plinth with bun feet and concealed brass castors England By James Shoolbred & Co. circa 1870
