Description

EDWARDS & ROBERTS: a splendid quality late Victorian mahogany WRITING DESK in wonderful condition.

The boxwood inlaid and crossbanded top is fitted with a gilt-tooled morocco leather writing surface, whilst below, the two pedestals each have three graduated drawers arranged either side of the kneehole, with a further concave drawer to the centre. All these drawers are lined in mahogany and are beautifully inlaid with marquetry scrollwork to the fronts. One is fitted for writing (ink bottles; pens etc) and the centre drawer is stamped with the makers name.

A practical and very attractive desk. 48ins wide; 25ins deep; 28.5ins high. (122 x 63.5 x 72cms)
