Regency Painted Tole Coal Box

Description

Good Regency painted tole coal box or coal hod; with gilded classical scrolled and foliate decoration on a scarlet red background; of sarcophogus form, the domed lid with shaped surround and a small gilded iron handle to the front. The main body with flared sides and scrolled iron carrying handles; raised on working ornate iron wheels with gilded shaped spokes.

Good condition, decoration refreshed
