Georgian Oak Low Boy Desk

Description

Good original Georgian solid oak "Lowboy" desk or side table, great example and in good condition and a useful size, being slightly deeper than the average lowboy desk, so there is more surface area and certainly useable as a daily desk. Good storage with the three drawers, all running well and sturdy, though the handles are not the original, they are solid brass and have been there for a very long time!

The top surface has some good quality quarter sawn oak grain to it and moulded edge, lovely depth of colour and patina, simple square legs with a moulded edge, but quite a decor piece too with the shaped kneehole. Some old marks to the top, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
