Description

This lovely quality bow front desk dates from around 1900 and has clearly been well looked after. In original condition with the original cabinet furniture it would fit in and look great almost anywhere. A useful work surface and a desk that certainly does not look heavy. The top has a most impressive stringing around its edge as do the drawers which also have a further inlay inset. All the castors are in place and the top has had a replacement antique finish tooled leather in black so as not to conflict with any colour scheme.

The locks carry the name Hobbs and co, a company started in the mid 1800s and aquired by Chubb in the mid 1900s.

A rare example in this condition and certainly at this competitive price.
