An unusually large antique Chinese Peking carpet with an oversize and pleasing all-over design of opposing birds, flower heads and Peonies. Very pale colours, great scale and flawless drawing come together to produce this magnificent 19th century weaving.
The piece is in good solid condition but contains areas of very old, but high quality repair. There are areas of low pile, but overall this has produced a mellow, look that would compliments any beautiful old house.
