Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The interior has a pull out writing slide with six working drawers, several pigeon holes and four faux drawers. Below is a long drawer over two smaller drawers all with decorative brass handles, the sides are reeded and this wonderful antique stands on beautifully turned reeded legs with brass cup castors. The mahogany is a warm rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
