Superb Antique Edwardian Solid Oak Tambor Roll Top Kneehole Desk C1900 Wdb290/25.7

Description

This is a superb quality Edwardian tambor roll top desk and dating from around c1900 and constructed from solid oak. It has a high 's' shaped tambor roll front which opens to reveal a nice interior of assorted pigeon holes, pen trays and two long drawers with an unusual feature of having six original small drawers (these are usually missing). These drawers are made from cardboard with gilt handles and have a sloping open back so could be for 'rolled' documents. To the base there is a central drawer above the kneehole with a sliding bookshelf to either side above two small drawers over a double filing drawer all of which are oak lined with original oak handles. It is a superb desk being completly panelled to the inside of the kneehole to the sides and beautifully pannelled at the back.

It is in very good condition and of superb quality oak and dismantkes for ease of transporting.

It measures: 61" high x height to writing surface 31" x knee height 25" x 30" deep x 53" wide x knee hole width 24.5".
