Mid C18th George II period mahogany knee-hole desk or dressing table in excellent original condition.

Quality mid-Georgian period mahogany knee-hole desk raised on bracket feet and retaining all original plate brass handles .

Central recessed kneehole cupboard fitted with original 'butterfly' type hinges and retaining original lock with key . The interior fitted with a shelf .

The surrounding drawers all with original solid brass back plates (and one bale drop handle replaced) and shaped escutcheon plates, one short drawer missing a lock.

The top long drawer fitted with original oak divisions to form compartments.

Shaped frieze shallow slide drawer to the centre . All drawers oak-lined with tight quality dove-tail details.

The back with original oak boards .

The top with simple moulded edge detail . Some marks and stains to the top commensurate with age and use, and

the sides each having a minor vertical single shrinkage gap . Some strengthening blocks replaced to rear of bracket feet.

Smart piece of quality mid-C18th period furniture of small proportions in fine original condition.

Rich colour and patina, has been waxed and cleaned in our workshops.
