Striking Figured Walnut Antique Victorian Davenport Writing Desk

This Striking Figured Walnut Antique Victorian Davenport Writing Desk circa, 1870 has a beautifully figured top with brass gallery and the interior has several letter dividers, quill holder and two original ink wells. The moulded fall front has the original tooled leather writing insert and the interior is in a striking satinwood with two small drawers. The front back and sides are all finished with a beautifully figured walnut and moulded edges. One side has a cupboard door with four mahogany lined drawers behind, the side are beautifully scrolled, carved and the splendid antique stands on four turned bun feet with castors and is equipped with keys with working locks. It is also full of beautiful charm and character that you would expect to find from a true antique. The walnut has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
