A fine stately home quality fire screen in gilt wood with original French tapestry panel. The whole is of the best quality with excellent carving and the most beautiful silk and wool needlework panel. The condition is very good, there has been some minor losses to the gilding but overall it is the original and a wonderful colour of soft gold that you can only get from old gilding. The needlework panel is in great condition, hardly faded and with one tiny hole. The back has been newly upholstered with a suitable quality fabric as there was nothing there, but the original victorian brade has been reused. The whole has the most beautiful country house look about it and is so bright and vibrant. C.1860.
